Wk 4: "Hey Its The Sister Mormons!"

hello from arizona! i've been here for just 2 days and i'm so in love with it. i'm in a little town, Cottonwood, right outside of Sedona. my comp is sister rose! we're pinkwashing the area- so we're the first sister missionaries here! there's a lot to learn about the area and people but we're so happy to be here!

some happy things:

- sister rose and i have 3 other roommates and they're so fun! sister bebel is one of them and she is one of my childhood best friends! we haven't seen each other since we were 12 so its fun to talk and catch up
- sister rose is so cool. we've known each other for less than 3 days and i already love her so much and know i will learn so much from her.
- today we got to explore Sedona and let me tell ya pictures don't do justice
- got to meet our ward for the first time- as soon as sister rose and i walked in we were taken in and loved by them immediately and it was so comforting
- got to see and hang out with sister johnson my first day here and it was so good to see a friend from home:)
- a family paid for dinner for me and 6 other missionaries at chick-fil-a and it was so slay

some lows:

- still sick
- havent been able to sleep at night for the last week so that's not cool
- said bye to my girl sister carr
- the relief society told me i look 10 years old, still love them

something spiritual:

basically us sisters being here is a huge miracle! my mission president has been wanting sisters here for a long time and it didn't look likely to happen until 4 days ago, everything just fell into place perfectly.
in the span of 3 days, the cutest fully-furnished house opened up for us to live in, the place was cleaned, heat was installed, beds were purchased and delivered, and 1 day before I arrived, they established that sisters could be sent to Cottonwood!
its been so humbling to see how God is really in the details. sister rose and i have come to the conclusion that God isn't doing this for fun or for free. He wants/needs us to work hard, love big and keep looking for His hand in the work.

my invitation to you is to look for His hand in your day to day. and when you see it, share it. talk about your God and how he shows up for you. i promise that when you look for Him, the mundane becomes miraculous and life becomes so much more meaningful.

i'm so happy to be in Cottonwood on the Lord's errand. this is truly His work and i'm grateful to play a tiny part in it. we've only taught 4 lessons so far, but in each one i've seen God's love manifested for each of those individuals in very individual ways. God is real, God is good, and God loves you individually.

have a good week! let me know if you need anything. love y'all!

love,
sister jenni
